Lyrical

Background

Lyrical was made in response to an incident where my family visited a private karaoke room for the first time. The machine's touchscreen was really bad, the song selection was actually not half-bad, but because the software was originally written for a Chinese-speaking audience, the search algorithm simply didn't work and most of the English songs weren't translated properly, so we couldn't find anything. I was so frustrated by my experience in there that I decided it would be a fun idea to make my own karaoke program.

Summary

Lyrical is a Java-based free-to-use karaoke program. It allows you to both edit songs and play back songs from your karaoke library. It is powered entirely by libGDX, an open-source Java game engine.

This project hasn't been worked on in a long time. In an attempt to get the above screenshots, the program kept crashing whenever I tried to save the song I was working on in the editor. I did develop this entirely in a Linux development environment however, so I guess I should've tested on Windows before releasing anything. Shoutouts to Windows for giving me a vague AccessDeniedException (I suspect it's the file separator).
